Tailored performance

Signage professionals on the grid

Pirelli is one of the biggest tyre manufacturers in the world. As a result, its product promise «tailored performance» became Frontwork’s mission.

To the finishing line with «Racing Spirit»

The team from Frontwork approached the invitation to tender with the right «Racing Spirit»: a language of form, round and gripping like a racing tyre, had to be found. The quintessence of feeling and innovation. The result: pole position!
Things ran smoothly for Frontwork after winning the tender.

The race starts

The challenge was to get an exciting project over the line within one year. It had actually been planned to let Pirelli’s former tyre warehouse to several tenants, but, in the end, single tenants were in the running. Quick and flexible coordination was demanded of the Frontwork crew here, just like in Formula 1, as well as the shrewd implementation of challenging modifications.

Full acrylic in pole position

Frontwork project manager Mario Gantenbein and his team developed unique, trendy illuminated letters for the customer including the production of a prototype. The two entrances A/B were provided with dominant, full acrylic letters illuminated on both sides, placed directly on the letter box. An eye-catching cut graphic with foil was also mounted there.

Installation with a Skyworker
A heavy machine was used for the installation: an 18-tonne crane with booms to extend the working range, because the distance from the standing area to the installation site was quite a stretch.

The effort and the technical complexity of the installation were really worthwhile. The new Pirelli design is resplendent on the perforated metal façade of the Pirelli building. An additional distinctive eye-catcher: the sides of the illuminated letters are provided with luminous frames.

A round attention-getter

Frontwork effectively set the stage for the floor designation with lettering superimposed on aluminium and suspended in a circle. The attachments, consisting of plug-in elements including a power supply, were installed during the construction phase. As is the case in motor sport, perfect preparation is everything.

Testimonial

What our customers say

«The high demands of the agency and the end customer for the interior and exterior wayfinding of the office building at Flurstrasse 62 in Altstetten-Zurich had to be satisfied. The result was a complete success owing to the tireless efforts of the Frontwork team in all phases of the project. »

Stephan Gruber, Head of Design, CORTI Total Services AG

Subsequent contracts were also placed. After the wayfinding project, we implemented exterior signage and decorative door foils for other tenants. This is because, just like Pirelli, Frontwork is always one step ahead of the competition with tailored performance.
