New rooms for IT company

Is this what the office of the future will look like? We think so! Creative work from employees requires good, functional workplaces, a technically flawless infrastructure and quick and easy access to the meeting rooms for short brainstorming sessions from time to time.

The Sihlpost in Zurich offers all this after its conversion. The location serves as a new office for an international IT company. The workplaces are separated from the conference rooms and enable quiet focused working. Open office landscapes alternate with attractive rooms for meetings and conferences. The employees can retreat to separate workspaces, e.g. the ample lounge, if they wish to.

The transparent foils are tailored to the ambient tones.

Implemented true to the original

Every Swiss child is familiar with the yellow of the post office and the post horn. The concept of spillmann echsle architekten ag picks up these traditions. Frontwork implemented them true to the original with materials such as foils, brass and aluminium.

Brass wall-mounted protruding signs

The wall-mounted protruding signs for identifying the meeting rooms are rendered in different colors depending on the area and floor. Terms such as “Paket”, “Telegramm”, “Briefwaage” and “Postkarte” (“packet”, “telegram”, “letter balance” and “postcard”) were milled from brass, honed, provided with a clear lacquer finish and bonded to horizontal bars which were subsequently screwed to ceilings and window frames.

The laminate foil of the floor signage can be walked on and withstands high loads and even resists cleaning agents.
