New horizons with elegant interior wayfinding

Thurgau hospital is equipped for the future

«We keep the distances short and the costs low» – this is the slogan of Thurgau hospital. It not only applies to the hospital organisation but also to Frontwork, which implemented the wayfinding for the new building. Patients, staff, visitors and suppliers should all be able find their way directly and easily. The signposting should be functional and aesthetic, including privacy protection. We achieved the optimum with the selective use of inscriptions. Because less is (sometimes) more.

New horizons with elegant wayfinding

A new hospital was built in Frauenfeld over a period of four years in the «Horizon» project. The new building combined existing departments with the reorganisation of various areas.
This also included the complete interior wayfinding of the new building. A wide variety of signposting and inscriptions, such as steles, panels, privacy films, wall-mounted protruding signs and suspended signs, were used for the best possible orientation. The significant volume and the deadline coordination were particularly challenging for Frontwork. Everything went smoothly, because up to six colleagues stepped into action on site for two weeks, in order to provide everything on schedule and in the best quality.

A thumbs up for immaculate signage elements

Frontwork implemented the concept by consistently processing high-quality panel material in the same material thickness with perfectly lacquered edges. the fronts were sometimes also embellished with the CI colours. The Frauenfeld personnel already gave a «thumbs up» during the installation work.

Equipped for the future

The hospital of the future is expanding and dynamically adapting to constructional changes. This is why Frontwork installed movable steles which offer flexibility. The specialists simply selected detachable mountings for this purpose. The contents can also be easily and quickly exchanged according to the individual requirements. The hospital can therefore react quickly, whatever the future holds.

Good preparation - so that everything runs smoothly

All the installations were prepared in detail in the Frontwork production plant, so that the choice of materials is perfect and everything fits together on site. However, some changes became necessary during the implementation, because the specifications did not correspond to the conditions on site at times – a minor detail for the experts from Frontwork.

A discreet screen, which is suitable for all requirements and provided with an appropriate motif for each department, was applied to the glass surfaces of all operating theatres and treatment rooms, in order to protect privacy in the rooms.
Information and the hospital opening hours can now be found at the entrances. It goes without saying that the Frontwork team wore sterile clothing in the operating theatre area, even without any patients present, and carried out installation and assembly work and applied foil there.

The result: everything is just perfect!

Probably the best moment in the project: a satisfied customer who is pleased with the professional execution of the result!
Neat and tidy work, good organisation and the customer requirements met to the full extent – Frontwork can also handle «sterile» conditions to perfection.
