Revival: the Migros mobile shop makes a comeback.

Migros Cooperative Zurich is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

In 1925
Gottlieb Duttweiler used it to conquer the streets, and it is now celebrating its comeback: the legendary Migros mobile shop brings a touch of nostalgia on its return. The bus was a meeting point of great social importance for many people in those days. Children ran after the bus, old people could keep up with the latest gossip, and the sales personnel knew every customer personally – encounters which fostered close personal friendships.

In 2010
Frontwork got the original Migros mobile shop ready to go for the first time, in order to offer open air visitors an extra service. The festival-goers could buy all the essentials in the shop which they had forgotten at home: from sleeping bags and toothpaste to condoms, sunshades and umbrellas to apples, mustard or biscuits.

Frontwork gave another vehicle a new lease of life for the 75-year anniversary of the Migros Cooperative Zurich. The renovation specialists oriented themselves towards the original design, which had not been used for a long time, and faithfully reconstructed the bus on the basis of old layouts. Frontwork also put its hand to the inside of the bus and derusted the old steel cages and replaced the fluorescent lighting with modern LED tubes. A deep clean was also carried out.

Today the cult bus presents itself in fresh paintwork and a new foil wrapping and is ready for the road again. Another example of first-rate collaboration between Frontwork, the agency and the customer.
