New Work - New Look: Optrel's innovative showroom

Working in a showroom

New Work means designing the «workplace of the future» in a suitable manner. Irrespective of the product a company offers, Frontwork uses its know-how to effectively develop the ideal office environment with the customer in mind.
Optrel came across Frontwork in the search for the right partner for its New Work project. After initial discussions and joint definition of the needs, Frontwork was able to give Optrel perfect advice.

Within easy reach

A comprehensive approach was needed to equip the workplaces and the showroom in the 3rd floor: so what if the new office is also a showroom?
No sooner said than done – different, activity-related areas came into being. An interior design compatible with the corporate culture and the employees.

People and space

The perfect combination of people and space? Together with Optrel, a leading manufacturer of facial equipment and breathing apparatus in Wattwil, Frontwork developed a workshop ambience to promote a feeling of well-being. The main objective of the company is to supply high-quality products which provide optimum protection for the user, true to the company motto: Experience the difference! The aim of the new design in the showroom is to create a comfortable atmosphere and a setting which makes this ethos perceptible. The work space offers new opportunities for discussions and a lounge area, a comfortable place to take a break and relax in. A test area for welding helmets is also a must.

Industrial look

The high-quality helmets can be tested directly to provide a practical experience. The cloakroom made of corrugated iron was given «traces of time» by Frontwork: industrial look, stylishly presented, providing an optimum contrast to the high-tech auto-darkening welding helmets. The models are perfectly presented and showcased in the best possible manner.

Customer interview:

How did you become aware of Frontwork?
I found the extremely convincing website via Google search. After a tour of Frontwork’s premises and viewing various applications, it quickly became clear that we wanted to work with Frontwork.

What was important to you in the design?
Above all to inspire our customers – we were looking for individual furnishings and a generously designed industrial world.

Did Frontwork meet your expectations?
Yes, completely, there is really nothing we would do differently today.

How was the working relationship?
The working relationship was good. The proposals for implementation reflected our needs. The products used were also convincing.

What did your employees say about the implementation?
Branka Miljanovic: “I can’t put it into words, but I feel much better!” The new space gives me a buzz, which means that I enjoy my work even more! We all feel much more comfortable.

How do your customers react when they visit you?
They are impressed – they take photos and ask if our premises can be booked for their events. That’s a nice compliment, and it shows that we did absolutely the right thing with the redesign.

Has the interior design already proven itself in practice?
Oh, absolutely. The surroundings are absolutely in keeping with the theme of welding helmets and breathing apparatus. The atmosphere in the evening is particularly appealing: the lighting effect is simply stunning!

Is it worthwhile investing in a more creative working environment?
Absolutely. The wow effect packs a punch and our customers are delighted. This on its own meant that we got really good value for money.

Home Improvement…

An athractite-coloured acoustic ceiling provides a comfortable noise level in the whole showroom. The existing steel supports were coated with a patina: they now have a rusty, battered and dirty effect – even deliberately painted water stains were included.
A drywall was provided with acoustic measures to separate the office / presentation area from the showroom. A three-piece folding door serves as a connecting element. This can be completely opened as required, in order to extend the space.

Multiplayer

Carpenters can do many things, but moulding different surfaces, processing various materials in combination with 3D printing expertise – only a few offer this. Frontwork finds solution options for spaces and structures within the specified budget.
