Gastro interior design - the Novotel well-being concept to perfection

Watch your waistline with Superbowls

What’s the perfect way to start the day?

The hotel group Accor approached Frontwork with this question.

“Superbowls” are the new highlight of the breakfast scene and a unique breakfast restaurant design was needed for Novotel – a tailor-made gastro interior design. The attributes “Feel Happy”, “Feel Energized” and “Feel Beautiful” now provide a very special breakfast experience with an entertainment factor.

Wrapping shows how it's done!

The restaurant shopfitting professionals of Frontwork simply have everything for the right wrapping: they cover all the corners, edges and borders of the buffet with a great deal of sensitivity and finesse. The enormous back wall is covered with a magnetic surface. The key feature: the seasonal breakfast ingredients on the wall can be easily changed via magnet – this means that the guest can see which seasonal bowl ingredients are on offer in an instant.

Superbowls on the Frontwork workbench

Material samples for the custom work were important to form precise cut-outs. Everything has to be just right, so that the bowls can be easily grasped and changed. Precise sawing, milling, drilling and grinding were required to obtain the same height and the correct diameter.

The rough edges of the project

A completely new design is often easier than renovation of the existing one: in this case, the customer’s buffet was showing its age and needed a height adjustment and a completely new outfit.

Customer Journey

The three product lines “Feel Beautiful”, “Feel Energized” und “Feel Happy” follow a horizontal line: if the hotel guests follow the coloured line of their choice, they implement the recipe suggestions. Each route provides a full bowl step by step, from left to right.

Material know-how for food

How do you select a food-grade cover for the gastro interior design? With experience.
The material used provides a hygienic, easy-to-clean worktop which is also impact-resistant and acid-proof. The Frontwork team milled grooves in the acrylic stone cover for the Customer Journey. These were then filled with paint, sealed and lacquered. The chosen material is supplemented by rubber, foil, MDF boards together with great attention to detail.

Frontwork is looking forward to the installation in February 2019, and also to the fact that Novotel guests will soon be able to make a perfect and weight-conscious start to the day!
