Sapori d’Italia: Italia, e basta

Coop opens a new Italian delicatessen

Coop brings the Italian lifestyle to Switzerland with Sapori d’Italia. It is no coincidence that the cuisine of our southern neighbour is one of the most popular in Switzerland: the fresh small of Focacce, Cornetti al cioccolato and espresso with golden-brown crema – this is the taste of Italy.

Coffee and delicacies

Aarau railway station is perfect for the new concept of Coop as a result of its excellent location and the high customer traffic of around 42,000 commuters each day. The key feature of the pilot store is the richly filled fresh-food counter. Around 20 seats give the customers the opportunity to relax and take a break from everyday life and enjoy coffee and delicacies on the spot.

The shop stands out because of its authentic design

The shop stands out because of its authentic design: natural materials create a typical Italian atmosphere, true to the motto “Classic design with a fresh approach”. After the implementation of the Karma vegetarian/vegan store concept, Frontwork was also tasked with the manufacture, installation and assembly of this shop. The specialists made and tested prototypes of in-store promotional displays and provided them with the right language of form in collaboration with kreisvier communications ag.

"Torrefatto con cuore" and "Piacere del buongusto"

Messages such as “Torrefatto con cuore” (roasted with heart and soul) and “Piacere del buongusto” (enjoy the good taste) can be found on the milled surface-mounted 3D plexiglas logo. Brands on wood, stickers and foils were used for the signage for the means of payment, pictograms, shop hours and shopping baskets. The Italian atmosphere is also apparent in the choice of colours and materials.

A tried-and-tested team

This project was also carried out for Coop under the strictest secrecy. The tried-and-tested team consisting of the customer, architect, agency, shopfitter and manufacturer was once again able to showcase its skills.
