A better understanding.

Energy calculators with interactive displays.

Interactive applications liven up exhibitions and they help to present abstract topics in an easy to understand manner. Just like the energy calculators of Centralschweizerischen Kraftwerke AG (CKW), which were built and inscribed by Frontwork.

Frontwork produced five energy calculators and a print station on behalf of CKW. The know-how for the 2.4-metre high steles was developed by the City of Zurich and supplemented by CKW. Fabritastika designed them and had them built by Frontwork. The housing is manufactured from sheet steel painted in two colours and inscribed with foils. It conceals the power and data cables, lighting and electronics – in short, the complete technology, which was programmed by “defekt GmbH”.

What can the energy calculators do?

They enable the user to have fun and find out how much energy he or she uses on a daily basis – for housing, food, as a consumer, electricity use and mobility. A printer linked to the electronics churns out a personal energy label within seconds. The information provided on this is intended to encourage the appropriate use of energy. The energy calculators are located in the Electricity Arena, a part of the Electricity World of CKW in Rathausen near Lucerne.
