Modern exhibition stand: Winterhalter Fenner AG

A gateway to a network of light

What an entrance!

The visitors to the ELECTRO-TEX 2018 reached the exhibition stand of Winterhalter Fenner AG through a giant portal interwoven with a network of light.

How can networking be reconciled with the focal topic “Connected” in association with the theme of “Light”? And all this on a stand with an area of 6 x 9 metres?

“Fresh and modern” and “immediately captivate the visitors”, these were the requirements of our customer and the agency REBEL COMMUNICATION.

The new exhibition stand needed to embody the themes of network, digitisation and light in the truest sense of the word and fascinate and impress the visitor at the same time.

Our team, consisting of various occupational groups, such as lighting technicians, graphic designers, metalworkers and stand builders, opted for a prototype with a three-dimensional surface in the form of a prism: LED strips were integrated in the plates, in order to create a “networked” effect. Not all the edges are lit.

A second skin and multi-use

The prism elements have a special feature: a second skin. How does that work?

Several materials are stretched over the supporting structure, comparable with a layer of skin. Keder profiles are attached to the base plate to fix the elastic materials in position. In this respect, rubber profiles were sewn into the edges of the fabric. These are pulled over the edge and pressed into the groove.

Prototype know-how ensures maximum efficiency!

We dispensed with a test construction for time and cost reasons. We were therefore extremely proud that our precise planning could be implemented on site without any problems and functioned perfectly. Everyone contributed their technical knowledge to create this special construction.

And so Winterhalter + Fenner AG’s stand became the highlight of the trade fair: anyone whose visitors enter a networked world through a portal creates a unique interaction with the guest. In addition to this, touchscreens were integrated in the partitions. Inquiring minds could find any form of information here. Frontwork also manufactured the bar and counter elements – branded with the CI- and the corporate colours of Winterhalter Fenner AG – discrete, but unmistakable. And the best thing about it all: the exhibition stand is sustainable! It can be used several times.

The customer and the agency were full of praise and extremely pleased.

Our team is not only proud of the futuristic eye-catcher but even more of the fact that all the participants and their solutions meshed together just like the sewn-in rubber profiles of the stand. All in all, this project implementation was a splendid “Arc de Triomphe” for all Frontworkers!
